Statistical Process Control Program

General Engineer, U.S. Army Aviation Missile Command, Corpus Christi Army Depot

Corpus Christi Army Depot, Corpus Christi, TX

Designed and implemented the depots inaugural Statistical Process Control (SPC) program in the disassembly, cleaning, plating, machining, cleaning, engine test cell, and flight test production re-manufacturing shops. New statistical techniques, equations, and documentation were designed and implemented to control processes and production methods in job shop environments. SPC tools and procedures were applied to monitor process behavior, discover issues in internal systems, and find solutions for production issues. Benefits achieved were reduced defects, waste, and rework on rotorcraft end items and components by the elimination of variation of processes to maximize productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
